The Steam splash page you thought you'd never see.
It is once again time to kick ass and chew bubblegum just as your supplies of said gum have been depleted. Duke Nukem Forever has finally released in non-US territories; kicking off with a midnight launch and a big party in the UK..
"June 10 in the UK will forever be celebrated as the day that the legendary Duke Nukem Forever went from video game folklore to Earth shattering reality"; said Christoph Hartmann, president of publisher 2K. 'For 15 years fans have waited in limbo just yearning to hear those two little lovely words strung together; Now Available. Today, the acronym 'DNF' changes its meaning to a 'Day to Never Forget.' I am proud to announce that the wait is finally over and that Duke Nukem Forever is truly Now Available'.
Whatever your feelings on the new Duke demo following recent showing at PAX and the demo, this is a historic moment for the games industry - the world's most notorious piece of vaporware has finally made it to release.
Duke is out next Tuesday (June 14) in the United States and, unsurprisingly; carries an M rating. Amusingly; though, the notoriously prudish Australian ratings board has allowed the game to be released uncut with an MA15+ rating.
